Adventure
Hollowreach
★★★★★ 4.5
Hollowreach is a slow, moody adventure about wandering an emptied city and piecing together what happened there. There's no combat and barely any UI — you tap to move, examine objects, and slowly unlock new areas by solving light environmental puzzles.
The mood is the main attraction. The sound design does a lot of heavy lifting, with wind, distant creaks and a sparse score that made me lean in. I played most of it with headphones and it was easily the better experience that way.
It's short — maybe four hours — but it stuck with me. If you want a story you can drift through rather than grind, Hollowreach is a lovely little detour. Just don't expect action; this is a game about noticing things.
